THIS IS A GAME THAT DESERVES A REMASTER!
This thread is about ‘The Division’ the first game highlights, I played this on PC and Xbox. You are an agent with The Division in New York City, are you good or bad who knows.
THE DIVISION
SURVIVAL
Survival is an extra game mode that allows any player regardless of level to pick a pvp or pve session to try surviving the elements and deadly enemies before sepsis kills you. You start with nothing, gather resources, craft gear plus weapons, find clothing to survive extremely cold conditions. Continue upgrading your kit and do as much possible to reach an extraction in the infamous dark zone.
Survival itself could be its own game and adds so much replay ability, even if you master the game mode eventually you'll want to try it again. You can die so many ways and will over time know the lay of the land which is how you can optimize your kit faster. People I have run into just play div1 for this game mode alone its that good. Your session of survival could be a minute like most rookies or a couple hours if you want it to.
THE DIVISION 2
The sequel which is similar but very different in ways, I started with div2 for 2-3 years then went to div1. I prefer the div1 game, but div2 has more builds. Difficulty of div2 is much easier to start with, but it has its harder levels later. No survival mode in div2. The open world events are very different between the two games, I spent most my time in div 2 doing control points and legendary missions.
Is it better than div1? This depends on you, graphics, ui, higher number of builds are a noticeable improvement. I really like the random spawn of rogue agents in the open world, these ai play more like humans. The soundtrack is off the charts great.
CONCLUSION
2024-2025 The Division 1 is my favorite game. Actually did not like div1 at first due to older graphics until after playing it more I couldn't put it down on PC then xbox. The difficulty really appealed to me, getting to wave 15 of the game mode resistance took awhile solo. Never ending enemy game mode with great awards. Lately the community has grown, global events were bugged offline in 2024 but due to some miracle the devs fixed it for a return in 2025. This is something you never see in older games.

THE DIVISION
- The city atmosphere, the absolute gold standard, snow, city life, despair, death.
- Survival, the GOAT of any game mode, note this is an extra DLC.
- Campaign is amazing and a story with similarities to Covid 19, this game could happen.
- Multiple game play styles, replay value is extremely high, group, solo, never ending enemies.
- Difficulty is a few levels higher than the sequel, no ez mode here to start.
- Many multiple builds for different play styles.
- Always plenty of players to join up with, its a ten year old game with a cult following.
- PVP or PVE, take your pick or play both nothing is forced.
- Global events, gear up more efficiently with the return of these events one week of each month.
- Open world do whatever you want.
- Open world bosses you can grind every 4 hours respawns 15 of them, top level gear drops possible,
- Dark zone pvp, its the original dz and the players here are ruthless, gear up and one day you may too.
- Underground, extra DLC solo and group missions or various settings, dark gorgeous world.
- Resistance, never ending waves of enemies. A part of the city where you can wander around and automatic events start or join a session like pier93 and take on waves for reward points you spend during the session. This mode is very hard especially for new players, they clobber you like no other game.
- LMB a military of various types, these guys are deadly one of the best enemies of any game. They do not kite easily like in div2.
- Div1 has an active city, npcs walking around, you can feel the despair, adds to the feel of the game missing in div2.
- Best snow and blizzard settings in any game, it effects how the game is played not just for looks.
- Hunters, ruthless enemies I believe to better than rogue agents in the sequel.
- The Cleaners, group of enemies that have a job to do cleaning up the city with fire, former firemen lol. They do not like division agents.
- Played the campaign 4x myself, the story and details seem to get better each time, hands down obliterates div2’s story.
